At Museum van de Geest | Dolhuys in Haarlem, you will make an exploration of the mystery of the mind. Through personal stories, science and life questions, the museum challenges you to open u to your own mind and the minds of others. A multimedia guide will take you through a historical collection of objects from mental and intellectual health care, elder care, addiction and neurology, complemented by modern art and personal stories. Haarlem's centuries-old former dolhuys (‘madhouse’) provides the apt backdrop. With the historic highlight being the 16th century dolcel (‘cell for the mad’). Where people used to be excluded, it is now a museum about all of us.
