Museumhuis Barnaart
- Noord-Holland
Museumhuis Barnaart in Haarlem is open! Stop by and admire the finest preserved empire interior in the Netherlands. The design is by Abraham van der Hart, who built the house in 1805, commissioned by Willem Philip Barnaart, the wealthiest Haarlemmer of the time. The result is an almost un-Dutch city palace. Vereniging Hendrick de Keyser has been preserving the most beautiful houses in the Netherlands for more than 100 years. Museum houses are the most special houses of this association. They portray how people lived in the Netherlands from 1550 to the present day. In addition to stories about the architecture, the history and the residents, most of all you will experience the house for yourself. In the museum houses, there is no need to whisper and there are no barrier cords. Sit on the chairs, look in the closet or bake cookies in the kitchen.
