Built by order of Count Floris V in 1285, the castle has a long and tumultuous history. In the 17th century, the famous writer and poet P.C. Hooft lived there. He had the castle gardens laid out and the plum orchard behind the castle. Stop by and enjoy the castle, gardens and many creative, sports and culinary activities for young and old.
